Gil Levy, MD, recently returned to Tel Aviv from New York. In New York he served as the Director of Urogynecology at The Center for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and Reconstructive Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. and also Director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at Staten Island University Hospital, Assistant Professor at the State University of New York Downstate. Dr. Levy earned his medical degree from Sackler School of medicine in Tel Aviv. He completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn as well as fellowship in Urogynecology at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. He also trained in Urogynecology at the UCSF Womens Hospital and LA County Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.Dr. Levy is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and a member of the American Urogynecologic Society. In addition, he is the recipient of the Physicians Recognition Award from the American Medical Association and the National Faculty Award for Excellence in Resident Education from The Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology.In 2008 he was named as the only Urogynecologist on the list of New York best doctors.Dr. Levy specializes in the advanced techniques n pelvic surgery which includes: Tape techniques for urinary incontinence Sacral stimulation of urinary frequency and urgency Injection of bulking agents for urinary incontinence Mesh techniques for pelvic organ prolapse Vaginal reconstructive surgery with and without removal of the uterus. Plastic reconstruction of the perineum and labia Surgery for fecal incontinence Surgery for constipation (Obstructive defecation)
